Program details

Enjoy a stunning classical music performance in an unrivaled setting as you attend a concert in the majestic Schonbrunn Palace. Featuring some of the most beautiful pieces of music ever written by Mozart and Strauss, this concert is performed by the Schonbrunn Palace Orchestra and Ensemble and takes place in an imperial residence full of history and culture. Be transported back to Vienna’s golden age of music as you are treated to a stunning performance including vocalists and ballet dancers.

Enter the magnificent grounds of Schonbrunn Palace, a favoured summer residence of many Habsburg rulers and officially the most visited tourist attraction in Vienna. In imperial times the palace was the setting for sumptuous festivities with musical performances from some of the greatest musicians the world has ever seen. Indeed the famous musical duel between Mozart and Salieri took place during one of these concerts.

Head for the former Orangery, originally intended to store fruit but subsequently renovated into a splendid concert hall. Here you will take your seat and wait in anticipation for the concert to begin. The first half of the performance will be dedicated to overtures, arias and duets by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart such as “The Marriage of Figaro,” “The Magic Flute” and “Don Giovanni”. After the intermission, let the orchestra delight you with the most memorable waltzes and polkas by the “King of Waltz”, Johann Strauss, including “The Bat,” “The Gipsy King,” the “Radetzky March” and of course, the “Blue DanubeWaltz”. This night is sure to stay long in the memory!
