Program details

Discover three of Vienna’s most important cultural landmarks on this comprehensive tour of the luxurious Schonbrunn Palace, the Hofburg Palace with its famous Sisi Museum and the Imperial Furniture Collection at the Hofmobiliendepot. Explore the legacy of the incredibly wealthy and powerful Habsburg dynasty as you take in the beautifully preserved halls and chambers at Schonbrunn, the vast silver collection at Hofburg and a unique look at the evolution of Austrian furniture through the ages.

This fantastic combination ticket allows you to experience all three of these great Austrian palaces and museums. Tour the Schonbrunn Palcace with an audio guide to direct you and inform you of the rich history of this lavish imperial residence. The summer home of the Habsburg Emperors of the Austro-Hungarian Empire, the palace is one of Austria’s most extravagant buildings and to this day is used for official state engagements and festive banquets. Visit over forty rooms within the palace including Emperor Franzx Joseph’s private chambers and the expertly designed botanic gardens in the grounds.

Head to the Hofburg palace, the winter residence of the ruling Habsburgs and admire the imperial Apartments, silver collection and Sisi Museum, dedicated to the wife of Emperor Franz Joseph. Empress Elzabeth, known as “Sisi” was only sixteen when she was wed to the Emperor and went on to live a fascinating life, often rejecting the more old fashioned traditions of the court.

Finally visit the Imperial Furniture Museum and trace a timeline of furniture from the Baroque period, through Biedermeier, the Viennese modernist movement and up to contemporary Austrian designs. All three tours are sure to captivate the imagination as you are transported back to Austria’s glorious Imperial era.
