Illustrious visitors captivated by its rugged landscape include Orson Welles, Ernest Hemingway and the German poet Rainer Maria Rilke. Amongst the town’s most outstanding features are the 3 bridges including the awe-inspiring Puente Nuevo which stands 120m above the gorge floor.

Wine lovers amongst you will delight in this visit to the palatial home of La Sangre de Ronda wine cellars. Wine has been produced in Ronda since Phoenician and Grecian times and this bodega specializes in the reproduction of wines from Ronda’s golden years. With a section dedicated to wine tourism our knowledgeable staff will guide you through the installations of the old wine cellar, recently converted to a museum. This fascinating installation consists of twelve themed rooms taking you on a tour through the history and culture of wine production.

Discover wine’s links to mythology and religion, the artisanal processes associated with its production both in the vineyard and the cellar, and the ancient nature of the drink beloved of the gods and mere mortals alike.

. The guided tour lasts approximately 1 hour and includes a tasting of young wines, traditional wines and 3 of Ronda’s greatest wines.
