Program details

Dive into the colourful depths and submerge yourself in the fascinating underwater life of the Mediterranean at the Barcelona Aquarium.

The most important Mediterranean marine leisure and education centre in the world has already received more than 14 million visitors. See the 35 tanks that are home to 450 species including sharks, piranhas, penguins and manta rays. Watch in awe as the sharks swim above and around you as you pass through the 80m long underwater tunnel, the Oceanarium. Walk through a model of a sperm whale in Planeta Aqua to discover how creatures have adapted to life in depths of darkness. Join in the interactive games in the Explora Section or have your photo taken in the most unusual of photo frames, the giant jaw of a prehistoric shark…

And if the thought of all that water – a mere 6 million litres - is making you thirsty, pay a visit to our self-service cafe where you can take a break from soaking up all the amazing sights. Remember to pass by the souvenir shop and take home a memento of this remarkable aquarium.
