Travel through dramatic landscapes as you make your way to the farmers' market in Tacoronte, explore the historic colonial city of La Laguna and savour some of the island’s top wines at popular Bodegas Alvaro.

Discover the rural heartland of the north of Tenerife before arriving at the picturesque coastal town of Tacoronte, which is renowned throughout the whole island for its lively farmers’ market. Browse through the more than 100 stalls selling only the freshest fruit and veg, and the finest homemade pastries and preserves in the archipelago. Maybe you could try a genuine Canary banana or take home one of the delicious local smoked cheeses.

Continue to the vibrant university city of La Laguna, which for three centuries was the capital of Tenerife, for a tour through the historic old town. Nestling in a verdant valley towered over by the snowcapped Teide volcano, the city is so crammed with beautiful colonial architecture that is has been designated as a Unesco World Heritage Site. Admire the cathedral and Salazar Palace among other landmark as you stroll through the pastel-coloured streets of this historic city.

Afterwards, raise a glass or two to the natural wonderland that is Tenerife with a wine tasting and tapas session at the charming Bodegas Alvaro. Browse the stunning collection of bottles that line the walls, an aficionado’s dream.
