Immerse yourself in the world of the sea with a fascinating visit to the Alborania Museum in Malaga Port. This interpretative centre is devoted to marine life will allow you to live experiences and feel emotions that strengthen your ties with the oceans.

The museum offers an insight into the sea and how we humans interact with it. It is a source of life that we are in danger of abusing yet also the most powerful force on the planet. With the help of interactive touch screens, marine artefacts and real-life underwater species, the museum aims to educate about ecotourism.

There are two areas: the exhibition area on the ground floor and research, workshops and classrooms in the top level. In the exhibition area you will find a room dedicated to sea life and the flora and fauna of the coast. There’s also the Shark and Ray Room, an Invertebrates Room exhibiting such species from the Alboran Sea (the western Mediterranean) and the Man and the Sea Room, where there are displays about fishing and of navigation instruments. You can even come face-to-face with some 500 creatures in the Live Species Area. Meet turtles convalescing from illness in the Turtle Patio, where they are being kept prior to their return to the sea, and find other species in the Aquarium Room, which have been collected by the museum and local fishermen. There is also a screening room where videos are shown about marine species and their natural habitats. The museum also has a Marine Club and offers courses on aquaculture and the environment
