Step back in 250 years in time with this visit a traditional Mallorcan manor house where you will discover how a noble family and their domestic staff and estate workers lived and worked. The historic estate of Els Calderers lies between the villages of Sant Joan and Vilafranca de Bonany. On top of the main house, it boasts a number of secondary buildings, kennels and fields.

The manor’s history can be traced back to the 1285, when it was first mentioned in historic records as belonging to the Calderers family. In the 18th century, the entire estate was acquired by the noble Verí family.

The present imposing main building was probably built from 1750 onwards and continually expanded until the early 19th century. In the house itself you will be able to visit the music room, the ladies' parlour, the family chapel, the kitchen and dining room. Outside the barns, stables and chicken coops are of particular interest.

You will also be able to see rare local breeds of farm animals, including the Mallorcan black pig from which the delicious sobrassada (a raw, cured sausage) is made. You will also enjoy the different workshops such as the smithy with its historic tools, the bakery and the laundry where clothes were washed and dyed. Then enjoy a wine tasting where you will get to try delicious local sobrasada, jam and cheeses.

Start/opening time: At 10am.
