Program details

Prepare for a journey of the senses with a private tour that takes in breathtaking Pacific coastlines, verdant vineyards, the dreamlike Enchanted Valley and one of Chile’s most important archaeological sites. Along the way on the legendary Pan-American Highway from La Serena, discover beautiful beaches such as those of Herradura, Las Tacas and Guanaqueros.

Continue east bound and see row upon row of vines, with exotic-sounding local varieties such as the cucumber and sweet melon. The tour heads to the Viña Tabali, nestled in the middle of the Limarí Valley, framed by Andean foothills. This winery combines both a picturesque setting with state-of-the-art facilities. Learn about the different kinds of vines along with a complete explanation on wine making and enjoy a wine tasting session in a propitious, authentic underground cellar.

The tour will lead us to Ovalle, the capital city of Limarí province. We will stop at a local restaurant for a typical lunch. Leaving Ovalle, the tour will continue to Valle del Encanto where we will find petrogliphs and pictographs. It is said they still tell the story of the Molle culture, which dominated this area until its decline in the eighth century. See the majestic fortifications and whispering walls.

The most interesting artefacts are the so-called silent stones, which bear holes the size of a coffee cup. Follow the local river and see that the size of the holes keeps increasing to the point of reaching the size of a human. Return to La Serena escorted by a spectacular sunset in the background.
