Program details

Experience both Rhodes’ stunning natural beauty and fascinating history on this cultural and historic tour that brings together the very best highlights of the island. Explore both the small, historic village of Lindos and the city of Rhodes itself with its spectacular Old Town. Admire the acropolis and the picturesque white houses at Lindos before taking a guided tour through Rhodes’ Old Town. Wander the cobbled streets of this medieval quarter and pause to marvel at sites such as the Palace of the Grand Master, the Great Hospital and the Street of the Knights. The tour will also take in the stunning amphitheatre at Monte Smith and the classical stadium of Diagoras.

Begin the tour with a trip to Lindos, the historic village perched between the foot of a mountain and the crystal blue sea. Explore its streets of “sugar cube” houses, white square buildings that flow down from its magnificent hill-top acropolis. Climb up to this ancient structure, an archeological goldmine, and enjoy fantastic views out over the enticing St Paul’s Bay below.

Then proceed to Rhodes itself to discover the Old Town, a Unesco World heritage Site since 1988. Learn about the city’s rich history as you are guided through its pretty cobbled streets, pausing to admire the Palace of the Grand Master, the Great Hospital, the Street of the Knights and much more. Compare the history and traditions of the Monte Smith amphitheatre with the modern day stadium of Diagoras and browse its abundance of markets, churches, mosques and windmills.
