Program details

Trek through the tropical rainforest from Cachipay to Girardot on this day tour that takes you to some spectacular scenery away from the crowds of Bogota. Walk along the old railway line and admire local flora and fauna in a tour that is guaranteed to invigorate your soul.

You’ll be picked up from your hotel in Bogota and taken out of the city to the lush green lands around Cachipay. Visit the old train station, the Palace of Culture and the chapel before heading off on the disused railway line that leads towards the town of Girardot. Hike through dramatic and exciting tropical rainforest, where you can enjoy the pleasant 22 º C climate, and pass by impressive waterfalls and streams that make the area come to life. The path you take is decorated with local flora, such as guava and tangerine trees, as well as other typical products of the region of Tequendama. Get to know other townships along the way and you’ll experience the authentic Colombia that not many visitors see, all in peaceful and tranquil surroundings.

Return to your hotel in Bogota at around 2pm and you’ll have plenty of time to put your feet up and relax before getting back into the city rhythm.
