Program details

Calling all lovers of the great outdoors! Come and see some of the most breathtaking scenery on the planet as we take you through mountain passes, rivers, gorges, lakes, glaciers, tunnels, forests, valleys and much more on this unforgettable full-day guided tour.

We’ll journey south, crossing the Brünig Pass at 1,000 metres above sea level to begin our ascent of the Bernese Oberland for our first stop: the awe-inspiring Aare Gorge. Dwarfed by the steep cliff faces, walk through the gorge on a secure footbridge that meanders along this stunning setting. If you though this natural adventure could not be bettered after this, then think again because it hits new heights as we cross the Grimsel Pass to reach the Totensee, or ‘lake of the dead’, at almost 2,200 metres.

Our next destination is the Rhone glacier, where you will enjoy one of the standout highlights of the day: the Ice Tunnel. This 100-metre-long passage chiselled into the glacier becomes bluer the deeper you go as you reach the ‘Ice Chamber’. We’ll continue on to the Furka Pass, which gives us access to the spectacular Saint-Gotthard Massif. We’ll pass the tiny hamlet of Realp on our way through the Urseren Valley as we head for the Schöllenen Gorge.

It is famed as the site of the legendary Devil’s Bridge, which was proving so hard to build at the foot of Saint Gotthard Massif that Satan himself had to be asked to lend a hand.
