Program details

Tickle your taste buds with a gastronomic tour of Mexico City. Sample the spice and delights of Mexican cuisine as you try some of the most popular and lesser known delicacies Mexico is famous for. Take a break from sightseeing and feast with your eyes and mouth on this tour that's been tailor-made for foodies.

Highlights
- Feast out on a range of typical tacos and quesadillas and fear not if you're veggie as we've got you covered
- Try out some exotic treats that are made from insects if you're up for it
- Round things up by tucking in to some chocolate confections at a chocolaterie

Your authentic Mexican experience starts in the downtown where you kick off the food festivities made with corn. Once you’ve got a taste for it, we head through the bustling streets to try mouth-watering tacos and quesadillas. There are vegetarian options made from squash and huitlacoche (a smoky-flavoured delicacy often referred to as corn smut) and of course options for meat eaters alike.

Don’t be afraid to sample some pre-Hispanic dishes made with exotic ingredients like grasshoppers and other types of insects. Originally a staple of the ancient Mexican diet, they are now considered a delicacy and not to be missed. If you can’t stomach this, then tuck into other typical foods made with corn, squash, chili, tomatoes, beans, avocado and chocolate. We end the gastronomic tour at a Traditional chocolaterie, where you can get your hands on delicious chocolate flavoured dessert which will be teamed with fritters. With all this scrumptious food on offer, you won’t go home hungry!
