Program details

Dive into one of the most thrilling underwater adventures you will find in the area and swim alongside the largest tunas in the world. The experience begins by taking you to the port of L’Ametlla de Mar in Tarragona and there inviting you to step onto a modern and luxurious catamaran specially designed with your maximum comfort and safety in mind.

The stunning coastal landscape of the marvellous Costa Dorada and the Delta del Ebro will glide by alongside you throughout the entire voyage to the Balfego Bluegin Tuna pools, located at about five kilometres from the coast. Once you have moored at the pools, a professional from the staff will give you a brief but entertaining explanation of what is going to come next: swimming surrounded by hundreds of Mediterranean Bluefin tuna, an experience you are bound not to forget.

During your trip you will learn all about the fascinating history and fishing techniques used to capture the giant tune thanks to an audio-visual presentation. On the way back, you will also watch a video documentary about the process of commercialization of the Bluefin tuna in Balfego and its traceability. Last but not least, when you are back at the port, you will head off to a nearby restaurant, where you will be able to finally sink your teeth into one of the most highly appreciated gastronomic pleasures in the world. All in all it is guaranteed to be a fun and educational day that will stay with you for a long time.
