The new Vienna Ring tram will take visitors of Vienna on a tour of the most beautiful parts of the city along the Wiener Linien tram lines. It provides visitors to the city with the perfect opportunity to take a quick and convenient trip around the city, allowing you to take in all of the sights of the city and get your bearings!


In the mid-19th century, Vienna’s old city wall was replaced by the boulevard which, in conjunction with the Franz-Josefs-Kai, now forms a ring around the city centre which the tram lines now run along. Magnificent buildings line the splendid boulevard, providing tourists with a vast array of spectacular sights to behold along the journey!


You’ll be able to see the brilliant State Opera House, as well as the Hofburg and the Parliament Building. The Vienna City Hall, the Burgtheater, the Vienna Stock Exchange and numerous other prestigious buildings are along the boulevard and can be viewed from the Vienna Ring Tram, irrespective of the weather.


Whilst aboard the tram, passengers are provided with information about the city sites via the LCD screens and headphones, keeping visitors informed of their surroundings! This is definitely a trip worth taking for those new to the city of Vienna who wish to see the major sites.



Meeting/pick-up point: Starting at the departure point at Schwedenplatz.

Duration: One Ring Tour.

Start/opening time: The Vienna Ring Tram circles the ring at 30-minute intervals each day from 10 am. until 5.30 pm. The final circuit starts at 5.30 pm.

Languages: There is information about the city sites via the LCD screens and headphones. It is possible to choose between eight languages (German, English, French, Spanish, Italian, Hungarian, Russian and Japanese).
