Program details

The tastiest meal you’ll eat in Barcelona will be cooked by a very special chef – you! This fun day experience allows you to choose the produce at the city’s legendary market, prepare them in a state-of-the-art kitchen and the feast on the finished product, washed down with an exclusive wine.

You will learn how to cook some traditional Spanish dishes as well as some avant-garde ones from your English-speaking instructor-chef. The classes are between three to four hours long and take place either in the morning or evening.

We’ll begin at the world-famous La Boqueria market, just 50 metres away from our school on the Ramblas, where the chef will help you choose the seasonal organic produce that will become the basis of your creations. Then we’ll head back to the kitchen to cook up a storm.

There are regular and tapas classes. In the regular, you can expect to prepare a menu consisting of strawberry gazpacho, shellfish paella, Spanish omelette and Catalan cream (the local variant of crème brûlée). The tapas class involves the creation of tasty treats such as chickpeas with botifarra sausage and cream of Artichoke with poached egg and Iberian ham.

All the classes will be accompanied by water and wine, with red Rioja and white Albariño Rias Baixas produced exclusively for Barcelona Cooking. You will also be presented with an apron and recipe packet.
