In this half day excursion you will get the opportunity to beat the queues and discover the Vatican Museums and the Sistine Chapel with no hassle. When you arrive, your guide will take you straight though into the museums where you will visit one of the most important collections of art in the world.

Admire the famous spiral staircase, the Gallery of Tapestries and the Gallery of Map before arriving at the Sistine Chapel and the unforgettable Basilica of Saint Peter. Explore one of the world’s most important religious sites with this Tour of the Vatican City. Walk around the Vatican Museums with over 2000 rooms and nine miles of the largest art collection in the world. Decorated with exquisite taste and full of works of art, the museum is packed with treasure and history. Discover all the secrets contained in the walls of the museums, originally meant only for the Pope’s eyes only. See Michelangelo’s creation of Adam with your own eyes as you explore the Sistine Chapel and the Raphael Rooms.

After visiting the Museum you will be taken on a guided tour of St. Peter’s Basilica, where you will find another of Michelangelo’s masterpieces, La Pietà. The tour ends in the magnificent St. Peter’s square.


Meeting/pick up point: ENGLISH: At the bottom of the steps directly across the street from the Vatican Museums, at the corner of Via Candia and Via Tunisi. SPANISH, FRENCH, GERMAN, BRAZILIAN/PORTUGUESE, and JAPANESE: The corner of Piazza Santa Maria delle Grazie and Via Candia, at the very bottom of the steps.
Duration: Three hours.

Others: Entrance into the Vatican requires a strict dress code. Shoulders and knees must be covered, no low cut or sleeveless tops or shorts for both men and women. Clients that do not adhere to the dress code will not be permitted entry to the Vatican. We cannot be held responsible for entry denied due to improper dress.

We regret that we are unable to accommodate guests with wheelchairs or mobility impairments on our tours. We are also unable to accommodate pushchairs or strollers on our tours.

Extra measures may be implemented at some venues due to heightened global security. As a result, we may experience delays in getting through mandatory security checks when entering these venues. Extra measures may also restrict the size of bags that can be brought inside. To avoid disruptions or possible denied entry, we strongly suggest that you avoid bringing large handbags, bags, or rucksacks on your tour. The Vatican only permits very small bags, and specifically prohibits large bags, tripods, umbrellas, and backpacks. Any such items must be checked into the free luggage storage area which may result in your having to leave the tour early to retrieve them at the entrance. On Wednesdays, access to St. Peter’s Basilica & Square may be closed at the time of the morning tour due to the Papal Audience. On Wednesday mornings & afternoons St. Peter's Basilica may be closed to the public due to the Papal Audience taking place in Saint Peter’s Square. The Basilica is also subject to last minute closures for religious ceremonies. When this occurs, we are happy to offer customers a longer tour of the Vatican Museums in keeping with the advertised total length of the tour.
