Program details

Treat yourself to an afternoon of opulence amongst the world's greatest collection of masterpieces and artistic treasures right here at the Vatican. Literally thousands of years worth of painting, sculpture, tapestries and sacred documents available for your perusal. And just to keep you on the cultural boil we throw in the The Sistine Chapel.

Live and breath like an artist in residence. Join some of the best artists in the western world, such as Fra Angelico, Michelangelo and Raphael and give thought as to how you would decorate the palaces, apartments and chapels of the Renaissance Popes. Visit also the:

- The Gallery of the tapestries
Tapestries are 'epic, historic, and monumental treasures that culminate a nation's culture' and nowhere is there greater evidence to this fact than right here at the Vatican.

- Art of the Sistine Chapel.
The most well known artwork in this collection is the ceiling of the Sistine Chapel. Painted by Michelangelo between 1508 and 1512 he began his Odyssey with a portrayal of the Twelve Apostles and then got carried away and painted the entire universe. Asked if he would do it again, he said 'I would rather eat cold soup'. Actually what he did say can't be repeated for your young ears.
