Program details

Be astounded by the sights on this spectacular tour to the Castelli Romani area. These famous hills are known as “Roman castles”. Take a nice break from the hustle and bustle of the crowds of Rome, exploring a beautiful historical vineyard. Castelli Romani is a group of communes in the province of Rome, at the feet of the Alban Hills.

Taste the culture which inhabits Castelli Romani as you escape from the hustle and bustle of the city of Rome. Etruscans and Greek settlers began to produce wine in the area long before the Romans themselves began developing their own vineyards in the 2nd Century B.C. 2,000 years later, Italy is one of the world’s most popular producers of wine, responsible for approximately one fifth of the world’s wine production.

On this tour, you’ll be shown around the ancient vineyards which inhabit the area and will also be given a demonstration of how the wine is developed from the vineyards into the wine we know and love! A tour guide will tell you about the processes and the methods that have stayed with Italy’s wine making traditions for centuries!

After the demonstrations you will be taken to a wine-tasting session where you will be allowed to sample the wine which has been made at the vineyard. You’ll be able to experience the culture of Italy in an authentic Italian vineyard in this beautiful setting of Castelli Romani. This tour is definitely one for the wine lovers and those who wish to discover the sights of Rome’s surroundings!
