Discover Trastevere, one of Rome’s most atmospheric suburbs, famous for its labyrinthine streets and fantastic stores. This neighbourhood offers artisan shops, art galleries, stunning basilicas and mosaic adorned squares. On this Rome walking tour, you’ll see the best of it all!

Begin the tour at the banks of Tiber Island and gazing at the captivating Church of San Bartholomeo. After strolling over the ancient stone Cestius Bridge you’ll be taken into the heart of the suburbs of Trastevere. The little town is a fantastic example of the traditions of Rome whilst keeping up with the modernity of metropolitan life. The nightclubs and trendy bars of the town are lined side by side with houses and shops in this fascinating place!

Walk through the streets of the suburbs until you come across the Basilica of Santa Cecilia and learn of the legend surrounding the Roman martyr, Cecilia. Revel in the Piazza Santa Maria in the heart of Trastevere and get a chance to witness the day to day life of the people who live in the small Roman town. Don’t miss the chance to sample some of the specialties from the nearby bakery, famous for being one of the best in town!

Afterwards, the tour heads for Piazza Trilussa and the Acqua Paola fountain, one of Trastevere’s most popular spots. After the morning of exploration, end the tour at the Sixtus Bridge, where you can either walk back to the town centre or continue to explore the suburb!
