Program details

Join this exceptional small group tour to get a privileged insiders look at the marvels of Venice, including two of its most representative monuments: St Mark’s Basilica and the Doge’s Palace.

Armed with comfortable walking shoes and Skip the line access allowing you to avoid the queues, we head off on our tour starting alongside the Grand Canal. Venice’s most famous waterway is always a hive of activity with gondolas and vaporetti and there is no better place to view it than from the iconic Rialto Bridge. Dating back to the turn of the 16th century this architectural gem made from white marble went well over budget but, as everyone will agree, it was well worth it!

We continue on our way through the maze of narrow alleyways and picturesque canals all the while being regaled with fascinating stories and titbits. Stop off at the lively Campo San Luca then gaze at the beautiful Goldoni Theatre. Next, we arrive at St Mark’s Square, the bustling vibrant area which is classed as Venice’s prime attraction. Breathe in the atmosphere, alive with the sounds of musicians and banter coming from the cafe terraces, before exploring St Mark’s Basilica. Admire the intricate domed exterior then head inside to see the opulent interior of dazzling gold and ornate mosaics – truly unforgettable! Continue on to the Doge’s Palace with its intricate lace like facade and sumptuous interior with frescos by Tintoretto and Veronese and utter a sigh of contentment as we cross the Bridge of Sighs!
