Program details
The world would today be a poorer place if Mount Vesuvius kept its cool some 2,000 years ago. But thanks to the catastrophic eruption in 79AD, we have Pompeii, one of the most breathtaking archaeological remains from the classical period. This fascinating day trip will visit the ancient Roman city in the morning and then take you to the amazing Amalfi Coast.
Begin with a stroll through Pompeii, its cobbled streets and alleys eerily stuck in time. Imagine how it would have been buzzing with the sound of pedestrians, hawkers and workers, full of shops, taverns and noise. Visit the homes of the plebs and the villas of the patricians and admire a stunning variety of frescoes and mosaics. At the end of the visit, guests will be taken to a Cameo and Coral factory, very close to the ruins, to observe the manufacturing process and do some shopping (maximum 30 minutes). Clients will have lunch at restaurant Vesuvio, reachable on foot.
After lunch and such an unforgettable journey to the past, we head to Amalfi coast for a panoramic tour. Along the way there will be a stop at a typical ceramics workshop, then a stop in Amalfi for about 30 minutes to visit the historic center, which is wedged between the foot of a mountain and the sea. At the end, the driver will take the guests back to Naples.
Meeting/pick-up point: Una Hotel, Piazza Garibaldi .
Duration:Eight hours. Pompei and Amalfi coast.
Start/opening time: At 8am.
Others:For the second part of the excursion (Amalfi Coast) there will not be any assistant, the driver will explain everything to the guests. Admission not included.
