On this afternoon tour you'll get to sample local foods and meet vendors of sustainable produce at the Ferry Building Marketplace while experiencing the building's history and architecture. Explore San Francisco's fascinating economic boom cycles while walking the Financial District with its contrast of modern skyscrapers and historic 19th century structures. You will get the facts and legends of the 1849 gold rush that gave meteoric rise to the city. Then soak up the city's entertaining history while sipping a drink in one of San Francisco's landmark local pubs. Mix with locals and wander around eclectic urban parks with inspiring sculptures and impressive views.



First we'll visit the historic Ferry Building, the terminal for ferries travelling San Francisco Bay as well as an important market. You'll get to meet the stallholders and try some of their wares. Then we'll walk around the city's Financial District where we'll visit an interactive Gold Rush Museum as we learn all about the area's chequered history. Finally, after a drink in one of district’s many quirky pubs, we'll pay a visit to Yerba Buena Park, one of SF's finest, with towering redwood trees, fountains, and inspiring sculptures.



This walking tour starts every day at 13:00 and takes around 3 ½ hours. We meet at Ferry Building Marketplace, meet outside the clock tower entrance. The tour ends at 16:30 at Yerba Buena gardens. Please remember to wear comfortable walking shoes and to dress for the weather.
