Program details

Delve into the history of this fascinating city on this Historic Paris tour. Paris was founded some 2,000 years ago, and this tour is dedicated to traverse the history of Paris from the Roman time to nowadays.

Enjoy a Seine river cruise from the Marina de Bercy (Paris East) with access to the lle de la Cité for a visit to the epic Notre-Dame Cathedral, affectionately known as Our Lady of Paris. Not only is the Cathedral a sight to behold in itself, with its grotesque gargoyle water spouts and the famous bell tower, it also bears testimony of important events such as the crowning of Napoleon I in 1804, the baptism of the King of Rome and his son. Its hallowed walls also saw the masses convene to pay homage to the past 3 Presidents of the French Republic, Charles de Gaulle, Georges Pompidou and François Mitterrand.

Following the cruise board a bus tour through the old districts of the capital city, such as the Marais and the Saint-Germain. Admire private hotels restored in the sixties and seventies, thanks to André Malraux, writer and philosopher who was chosen as Culture Minister by General de Gaulle. Malraux also worked at the preservation of many monuments in France. Many private hotels dating back to the 17th and 18th centuries were turned into museums, ministries, embassies and lodgings for high ranking officials of the French State.

By land and by water you will be skilfully taken through the sweep of the history of this fine city.
