Program details

Get into the spirit of Barcelona with this tour of the city in the morning and the mythical mountain of Montserrat in the afternoon. Explore the Gothic Quarter, head by cable car to Montjuic and the Olympic Ring, and visit the picturesque Poble Espanyol and much, much more during this fascinating day.

The tour starts in the Gothic Quarter, a maze of narrow streets surrounding Santa Eulalia Cathedral. Continue down to the old port, a recently renovated area, extending the city centre from the Ramblas down to the sea. In this attractive district, you'll find a wealth of restaurants, shops, nightclubs and frequent open-air entertainment.

Next, climb Montjuic Mountain and enjoy the great views over the city and harbour and admire the spectacular sports facilities in the Olympic Ring. The final visit of the morning is to Poble Espanyol, a charming collection of replicas of buildings, streets and plazas from all over Spain, which allows you to discover the best of the country’s architectural heritage without leaving Barcelona. The village also has many crafts shops and some excellent restaurants and bars.

In the afternoon, drive through rolling countryside and past remote villages towards Montserrat. Climb the mountain in the famous rack railway. Visit the Royal Basilica of Montserrat, which houses the 12th century carving of La Moreneta, the Black Virgin. Also included are an audiovisual presentation and a tasting session of some liqueurs made by the monks or a glass of cava.

Duration: Ten-and-a-half hours.

Start/opening time: At 8:45am.
