Program details

Combine a trip to the beautiful scenery of the mountains outside of Barcelona with a tour of the city’s famous modernist architecture on this fantastic double tour. Discover the breathtaking Monastery of Santa Maria, set in the rocky hillside of Montserrat and take a walking tour of the masterpieces of Antoni Gaudí in the city centre. From his unfinished Sagrada Familia to Parc Güell, Casa Batllò and much more, appreciate the architect’s talent and the beauty of his works.

Take a comfortable, air conditioned coach journey out of Barcelona and climb the majestic mountains of Montserrat to a height of over 1,200m. Shaped over the centuries by erosion from wind and rain, the rocks up here have taken remarkable forms and inspired myths and legends for centuries. Visit the stunning Abbey of Santa Maria of Montserrat, built in the 11th century and home to a highly important shrine of the Virgin of Montserrat, also known as “The Black Virgin”. Pilgrims have flocked to Montserrat for almost a thousand years and continue to do so to this day. Learn all about the site and its history in the newly upgraded audiovisual exhibition.

Then head back into the city to take in the best works of one of Catalonia’s favourite sons, Antoni Gaudí. Visit the spectacular and famously unfinished Basilica de la Sagrada Familia, the spectacular, modernist Parc Güell and Paseo de Gracia, which features the famous Casa Batllò and la Pedrera. Learn the history and admire the beauty of these structures as your guide leads you through the centre of Barcelona.
