Program details

Come and discover the sparkling world of cava with this tour of the world famous Freixenet wine cellars and the picturesque coastal resort of Sitges before finishing with a tour of artistic Barcelona. This tour has a little bit of everything, offering you a tantalising taste of three of Catalonia’s most famous products: bubbly, beaches and Barcelona!

At the Freixenet cava cellars, you will learn all about the history of this family business with a brief audiovisual presentation and then your knowledgeable guide will take you down to the cellars themselves, where you will see the cava being made. There are more than 20km of underground cellars here and you will board a small train that will take you to the tasting room. Here you will have the chance to sample some of the cavas made by this world-famous chateau.

Continue the fun with a short, scenic drive to the attractive coastal resort of Sitges. This charming town is blessed with more than 300 days of sunshine a year and on top of its 17 beautiful beaches, there is also an attractive old town with cobbled streets and impressive medieval buildings.

End the day on a high with a spellbinding tour that takes in some of Barcelona’s most important architectural landmarks – this is the city that turned architecture into an art form, after all. See Gaudi's Casa Milà and Casa Batlló, then visit Park Güell. Continue to the sensational the Sagrada Familia and then visit the glorious Gothic Cathedral of Santa Maria del Mar, before finishing at Picasso Museum (admission not included).

Duration: Ten-and-a-half hours.

Start/opening time: 8.45am on Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday from April 1 to October 31; and on Wednesday only during the rest of the year.

Languages: English and Spanish, however the Freixenet will be in English only.
