Prepare to be impressed by the magnificent collection of modernist art found in the recently opened Museum of Catalan Modernism. Enjoy some time learning about the artistic movement that dominated architecture, design and the decorative arts in Catalonia and especially Barcelona at the end of the 19th and beginning of the 20th centuries with this intriguing visit to the Museum of Catalan Modernism.

The Museum is situated in the old Fabra & Coats textile factory, itself a modernist building designed by Enric Sagnier and built at the turn of the 20th century. You'll find works by Josep Llimona, Joaquim Mir and Josep Puig i Cadalfach as well as a room dedicated exclusively to the extraordinary work of visionary architect Antoni Gaudí.

Overall there are more than 350 works of art by 42 of the most representative artists of Catalan modernism, comprising everything from painting and sculptures to furniture design and decorative arts. On the second storey, you can find an important collection of furniture with pieces made by Gaudi as well as by other renowned cabinet makers such as Gaspar Homar and Joan Busquets. On the lower floor, you will find an impressive collection of paintings and sculpture with works by Hermen Anglada i Camarasa, renowned for her paintings of belle-époque women, and pieces by Santiago Rusiñol among others.
