Program details

Discover beautiful Cesky Krumlov, an historical gem of a town designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Rightly called the renaissance jewel of the crown, this is a real feast for the eyes.

In this full-day excursion you have the opportunity to admire the scenic countryside of Southern Bohemia with its picturesque villages and numerous lakes as we head for Cesky Krumlov. Situated on a bend of the Vltava River and surrounded by rolling hills this superb town has over 300 protected mediaeval buildings and a stunning Castle Complex which is classed as the second largest in the Czech Republic.

Explore the cobblestone streets winding past centuries old townhouses, traditional inns, shops, and cafés and discover the town's many attractions including the Church of St. Vitus dating from the 14th Century plus the Neo-Classical Town Hall.

After a delicious lunch in a typical restaurant, we'll climb up to the castle complex, founded in the 13th Century and one of the largest of its kind in Central Europe. Here you can explore the Baroque Theatre with its priceless collection of original scenery, costumes, and props. Visit the Gothic Castle Tower, the Castle Lapidarium with its collection of baroque statues and the beautiful English-style Castle Gardens covering eleven hectares, dominated by a Rococo summer house and cascading fountain with statues of water deities. This excursion includes transfer, lunch in a local restaurant, and entrance fee to the castle complex as well as the services of an English-speaking guide.
