Program details

Travel back in time to the ancient city of Pachacamac, one of the most important archaeological sites in Peru, and then enjoy a spectacular exhibition of Peruvian culture with Paso horse show at the renowned Hacienda Los Ficus, where you will also be able to feast on a traditional lunch.

Dating from about 200 AD, the fascinating archaeological complex of Pachacamac, which means ‘the one who animates the world, is made entirely out of clay and features two large pyramids, one dedicated to the sun and the other to the moon. Climb to the top of Temple of the Sun and enjoy the stunning views over the Pacific Ocean.

Pachacamac was the main destination for pilgrims in the coastal region and attracted worshippers from all over Peru. The on-site museum displays artefacts discovered at Pachacamac, including ceramics, textiles and religious ornaments. There are also exhibits explaining the history and importance of the complex, which originally belonged to the Ichma people although it was mostly built by the Wari and later dominated by the Incas. Archaeological digs have revealed thousands of mummies and numerous other relics.

Continue to the Hacienda Los Ficus and enjoy a spellbinding show of Peruvian Paso horses.
