Journey from Guatemala City on this full day tour to the most influential Mayan city in Copán, and be amazed by its archaeological beauty and significance.
Leave Guatemala City early in the morning to travel to Copán, enjoying breakfast en route, and arrive in time to fully appreciate the magnificence of the ‘Kingdom of the Sun’. Take a tour around the archaeological site that was once the capital city of the Classic period kingdom, which was not excavated until the 19th century. At every corner you’ll discover the vast treasures of Copán and with every step you take, you’ll step back in time. Marvel at the Acropolis and important plazas encircling it, including the Ceremonial Plaza, the Hieroglyphic Stairway Plaza (one of the most outstanding structures of the Mayan culture with a 100m wide stairway) and Eastern Plaza. Uncover its special connection with Quirigua and how it also became the capital of a New Mayan kingdom under the Yax Kuk Mo dynasty. You also have time to have lunch in the quaint village and discover the more modern side to Copán.

Comalapa Market and Iximche Archeological Site.
Transfer to San Juan Comalapa via Antigua Guatemala, out from the city to the village of san Juan Comalapa one of the most picturesque village of Guatemala, on arrival they will be able to observe several local art galleries, where artists show their work. In addition to a visit around the colonial church, after the visit to Comalapa, we will be moving to archeological site "Iximche" a city of the post classical period, where you can visit the pyramids in honor of moon and sun, one of the oldest and most important cities of the Maya.

Start/opening time: Copán Tour - at 5am. Comalapa Market and Iximche Archeological Site - at 6:30am.
End/closing time: Copán Tour - at 7pm. Comalapa Market and Iximche Archeological Site - at 5:30pm.
