Tour description:
Get on board and start a short training session to get familiar with your Segway, then you are ready for this tour that will take you to the heart of the very best of Milan.
You will start in Sempione Park, near Sforza Castle, the impressive fortress of the former Dukes of Milan, now home to many of Milan’s most important museums, including the Museum of Ancient Art, where Michelangelo's “Rondinini Pietà” sculpture takes pride of place.
Take a short cut through Piazza dei Mercanti with its porticos, reliefs and loggias still standing from the Middle Ages and enjoy a short respite from the crowds as you thrill to Bramante’s illusion of space created during the Renaissance.
Stop for a while in front of the Duomo for getting close up views of one of the most beautiful cathedrals in the world while your guide will point out aspects of its impressive Gothic façade. Then, stroll through the glass arcade of the majestic 19th-century shopping centre Galleria Vittorio Emanuele, often referred to as “Salotto di Milano” (“Milan’s Drawing Room”), where you will find shops of luxury brands such as Prada, Gucci, Armani, etc.
You will proceed towards the sober façade of Teatro alla Scala, the most famous Opera House in the world. Built in 1776, the theatre has played host to some of the world’s greatest musicians, including Verdi, Bellini, Rossini, and Donizetti. Opposite you will see City Hall, separated from the theatre by a 19th-century statue of Leonardo da Vinci surrounded by his pupils.
Stroll through the picturesque Brera District, with its narrow alleys and antique boutiques, where old-world charm meets a trendy and youthful downtown vibe.
