Enjoy a splendid evening in Shanghai with a cruise on the Huangpu River, a walk along the Bund and a trolley tour of Nanjing Road. A relaxing time is to be had just soaking in the sights of this diverse and interesting city at a gentle pace.
The tour starts with an evening cruise on the Huangpu River, which divides the Bund into two sections, Pu Dong and Pu Xi, which mean east of river and west of river. Local people honour the Huangpu as the ‘Mother River’, and as you view the lights and spectacle from the deck of the evening cruise, you will soon understand why. Night time is a great time to experience the river as the lights are plentiful and spectacular. Throughout the tour you are treated to informative commentary from your experienced guide who will provide the fascinating historical and cultural background to all that you see.
After the cruise, enjoy a walk along the renowned Bund. The beautiful colonial buildings are illuminated with great lighting which provides a romantic backdrop to your stroll. Take a look at the famous Peace Hotel, which served as the centre of Shanghai's nightlife in the 1920's and 30's. A luxurious Art-Deco masterpiece, the hotel has been restored including its glorious Peace Hall which was home to cabaret nights and gala parties. To end the tour, take a trolley tour to enjoy a magnificent view of Nanjing Road by night.
