This is deemed as the cultural core in the vicinity. Many an amazing artefact can be found in the museum which is situated right inside the palace. Whilst walking around the grounds of the Taman Sari castle you shall learn about how this castle was the jack of all trades as it was the hub for a whole host of activities including meditation, defence, relaxation and even hiding.

We cruise down to Borobudur which is set 42 kilometres west of Jogjakarta. Saunter and sashay your way around this beautiful Buddhist temple. This temple is made up of thousands upon thousands of volcanic and river stone blocks and took over 75 years to build from start to finish. Built solely by human hands, it really is a marvel! Slip inside and be wowed by more than 500 Buddha statues!

You shall get the chance to sit back and relax as you devour a late lunch at a traditional local restaurant set in the heart of some recherché rice fields. You get to taste some local cuisine whilst breathing in that rich ambience that is ever so abundant in this serene and pretty place.

Once you’re full up, it’s time to head to the ancient Hindu temples at Prambanan which are located a little out of town; you’ll make your way 17 kilometres away from Jogjakarta. Named as a Heritage Site by UNESCO way back in 1991, these 9th century pointed and jagged looking temples are comprised of three main inner shrines which pay homage to the Hindu trinity: Brahma, Vishnu and last but by no means least: Shiva.
