Djerba Camel Ride

General information

Destination
Djerba, Tunisia

Program details

Camels have provided Tunisians with desert transport for thousands of years, so no holiday to these parts would be complete without taking a ride on one. After arriving at the camel station, you'll get to meet the dromedaries: one-humped camels: which you'll ride in pairs.

Once a guide has shown you the ropes, your camel will kneel on the ground, so you can clamber onto its comfy, cushioned saddle. Then, hold on tight as your animal rises up and sets off in a guided convoy. You'll sway over sand dunes and lollop down desert tracks, getting a whole new perspective on the Djerban countryside. Plus, once you're back at the camel station, you can meet some more of these intriguing ships of the desert.

Don´t forget your camara!
