The Yu Garden is an extensive Chinese garden located beside the City God Temple in the northeast of the Old Quarter. It was built by the Pan family during the Ming Dynasty in 1577, and has been restored as a national monument. Surrounding the gardens is the Old Market Town, a vibrant and lively place where you can see how the locals live, do some shopping and even taste traditional snacks. Next, take a walk along the Bund, the famous waterfront area in central Shanghai which runs along the western bank of the Huangpu River. Famous for its pre-1949 architecture, the area is Shanghai's financial hub with numerous banks and shops that were established here since the 1930s.



Silk or pearls, the choice is yours, any of these visits will be a fascinating experience. In the Jade Buddha Temple, you will see the priceless collection of jade statues from Burma. Later, enjoy a moment of tranquility admiring the works of the Museum of Fine Arts, which has permanent exhibitions that you simply cannot miss. Finally, you will have the opportunity to relax in one of the most modern entertainment districts of Shanghai, Xin Tian Di, where you can visit exclusive bars and cafes or treat yourself with something to eat in a restaurant.
