Program details

Palmitos Park is a sub-tropical oasis, situated in a lush valley planted with palm trees where you will be able to admire over 200 species of exotic birds including toucans, humming birds, peacocks, ibis, flamingos, hornbills and parrots as well as an aquarium, butterfly house, cactus garden and orchid house.

The botanical gardens and zoo are among the most important of their kind worldwide with hundreds of birds, dozens of mammals, reptiles, thousands of fish as well as thousands of palm trees, cacti and other plants; making it one of the major attractions in Gran Canaria.

Neither should you leave without seeing the largest collection of orchids in the Canary Islands; the Orchid House recreates the natural habitat of these beautiful flowers. Another attraction is the Cactus Garden where you can admire an impressive collection of aloes and cacti with some really incredible specimens.

Palmitos Park also houses Gran Canaria’s only dolphinarium where you will be able to enjoy the antics of these intelligent sea mammals in a spectacular setting. The Aquarium is home to a large variety of tropical fish, including the most important collection of the coral reef’s inhabitants in Europe. You can also admire a collection of colourful salt and fresh water fish of all shapes and sizes in a reproduction of a tropical river.

One of our newest attractions is Primates Island, where you will be able to observe gibbons (who have bred successfully in captivity for the first time in the park) and orangutans. All of this in a lush oasis containing over 1,000 palm trees and 15,000 plants.
