Visit of a real chocolate production plant… A mouth-watering journey to the cradle of the praline.

Belgium is the biggest per capital exporter of chocolate in the world. Our chocolate industry became world famous following the invention of the praline, a chocolate shell with a soft center.

The man who came up with the idea, Jean Neuhaus, is to this day referred to as Belgium's most famous Maître chocolatier. The company’s recipe for success still comes from the use of the finest natural ingredients from the best regions of the world combined with unique tastes and textures. After a short coach drive we leave you in the caring hands of one of the Neuhaus maîtres chocolatiers that will initiate you in the art of making the legendary chocolates. You will wonder at the manual dexterity involved in the making of a Neuhaus praline.

For reasons of food safety visitors are requested not to wear any jewels or watches during the tour of the premises. Disposable gloves are provided. In the Neuhaus factory outlet store they have many different chocolates to sample for free and many that you can buy in 1 kilo boxes at a fraction of the price you would pay in downtown. It’s easy to get overwhelmed with so many decadent choices. The bulk chocolates are great if you want to bring some back for family and friends. The salespeople at the factory store are very knowledgeable and can help you locate special requests. When you are in Brussels and you love chocolate, you should not miss this opportunity!
