Ottawa has so much to see and do that it is hard to pack it all in one day, but somehow, we managed it. The Ultimate Ottawa Tour is a 4-hour tour that allows you to experience some of the city’s most popular attractions including the West Block Parliament building and the Byward Market. After exploring these landmarks, you will take part on a 1-hour river cruise (replaced by the Museum of Civilization, October-May) that gives you the opportunity to catch a glimpse of over 55 “must see” sites throughout the capital city.

The day begins with your personal tour guide picking you up from your downtown Ottawa hotel. From here, you will be taken on a guided tour across the famous Alexandra Bridge to Quebec. From here, the best pictures of the Parliament Buildings can be taken from across the river. After a fun photo opportunity, you will then be taken behind the Supreme Court of Canada for another unique shot of Ottawa’s beautiful shorelines. Now that you are acquainted with the city, it’s time for your guide to take you to Parliament Hill. He or she will be able to answer questions, provide you with fun facts, and point out important landmarks and sites along the way.

The adventure really begins once you arrive at Parliament Hill. Here, you will be able to explore the historic West Block building, which currently holds the House of Commons. There will be plenty of free time available to you where you can do everything from explore surrounding buildings, wander the grounds, and capture some amazing photos of the nearby sites.

Your day of fun and adventure continues as you will be taken on a guided tour down Sussex drive, passing many historic and beautiful landmarks along the way, including 24 Sussex Dr, Rideau Hall, and several impressive Embassies, to name a few. The drive then continues into Ottawa’s prestigious Rockliffe Park, where beautiful parks and mansions overlook the Ottawa and Gatineau rivers. On your way back downtown, your guide will stop at a scenic lookout overlooking these two beautiful rivers and delve into Ottawa’s history along the river.

From mid-May through September, the day ends with a relaxing 1.5-hour river cruise that will have you leisurely floating down the Ottawa River. During your enjoyable river cruise, you will be able to view over 55 different sites along the river which include everything from Chateau Laurier Hotel and Rideau Falls to the Parliament Buildings, Supreme Court of Canada, and the Prime Minister’s House. A visit to the Museum of Civilization will replace the river cruise from October to May.

After your memorable river cruise, your tour guide will take you back to your downtown Ottawa hotel.
