The largest city in the country, The Hague is the unofficial capital of the Netherlands.



It is where the Dutch Parliament exists, as well as the Supreme Court, all ministries and even the chosen place of the Queen as her “working residence”. This city has a deep meaning for the Dutch, both historical and contemporanean. Visit the heart of Den Haag, the Plein Square, one of the more stylish squares in the city, with it’s delicatessen and pubs many times frequented by members of the government.



Pass the Royal Picture Gallery Mauritshuis, today an art museum (since the 19th century) that was once the residence of the counts. Gaze at the interesting 13th-century gothic Knight's Hall, or Ridderzaal, still used for official royal receptions and parliamentary conferences, this is the main building of the historial Binnenhof.



Pass the Noordeinde, one of the shopping streets in the city, decorated with many fashion boutiques and interior decoration shops. See the 16th-century Renaissance Oude Stadhuis, or the Old Town hall, formed by two buildings and an 18th century tower, revamped in a Louis XIV baroque style.
