The best of México from Mexico City to Yucatan, via Puebla, Oaxaca y Chiapas

NO FLIGHT NEEDED, all the itinerary will be done by private car/minubus

Program

Day 1:
Mexico City
Arrival at Mexico City International Airport and transfer to the Hampton Inn or similar hotel. Lodging.

Day 2:
Mexico City
Full day dedicated to the visit of the City and the archaeological zone of Teotihuacán. Among the planned visits are the "Zócalo" (the main esplanade with its Cathedral and the National Palace), the Templo Mayor, the church of the Virgin of Guadalupe, the most important pilgrimage point in Latin America. Later we will visit Teotihuacan with its imposing pyramids of the Sun and the Moon. Lunch at a local restaurant. We will be returning to the hotel at sunset.

Day 3:
Mexico City - Puebla - Oaxaca
Departure by private transport to Puebla and once upon arrival, visit of this beautiful colonial city, famous for its baroque churches and local handicrafts and ceramics. Lunch at a local restaurant. We continue to Oaxaca and lodging at the Hotel Casa Conzatti or similar.

Day 4:
Oaxaca
Fullday dedicated to Oaxaca city and Monte Alban. In the morning we will visit the citycentre of Oaxaca, the "Zocalo" with the Cathedral and the Santo Domingo church, the Convent of Santa Catalina de Siena and finally the typical market of Oaxaca, one of the best of the state. Lunch at a local restaurant. In the afternoon we will continue to Monte Albán, religious capital of the Zapotecas. Built on a hill, this place is known for its pyramids, tombs and with a beautiful panoramic view. Return to Oaxaca at sunset and lodging.

Day 5:
Oaxaca - Mitla - Tehuantepec
In the morning visit of Mitla, an old Mixteca site with many pre-columbian buildings. Departure to the Pacific Sea (4 hours) and lunch. Arrive in the afternoon to the port of Tehuantepec. Overnight at hotel Calli or similar.

Day 6:
Tehuantepec - Tuxtla Gutiérrez - San Cristóbal de las Casas
After breakfast departure to the state of Chiapas. Stop at Chiapa de Corzo to visit the Sumidero Canyon aboard the local boats. Dinner & Overnight in San Cristobal de las Casas at the Mansion del Valle hotel or similar.

Day 7:
San Cristóbal de las Casas
Today we will visit the indigenous communities of San Juan Chamula & Zinacantán, located a few kilometers from San Cristóbal. Also included is a small walk through the city, with its typical market where it is possible to admire the handicrafts of local indigenous and their famous churches among which the most important is the temple of Santo Domingo.

Day 8:
San Cristóbal de las Casas - Palenque
Today we will descend from the mountains of Chiapas through green valleys. Scheduled stop to admire the cascades of Agua Azul and for lunch at a local restaurant. Arrival in Palenque and accommodation in hotel Mision or similar.

Day 9:
Palenque - Campeche
The whole day will be dedicated to visit the archeological zone of Palenque, still partially hidden among the Chiapas forest with its unique and fascinating pyramids. Lunch at local restaurant and departure to Campeche. On arrival visit to the city still surrounded by old walls and towers that still preserve a strong colonial style. Accommodation in hotel Plaza or similar.

Day 10:
Campeche - Uxmal - Mérida
Today our first stop will be in Uxmal, one of the most important testimonies of the Mayan culture. In the afternoon, we will continue towards Merida, with a visit of the White city. Mérida, where its colonial residences and French, Italian and Arab style of the beginning of the century testimony of the past wealth created by the Sisal culture. You can admire the main monuments of the city: the Cathedral, the Government Palace, the Municipal Palace and the House of Montejo. Lodging at the hotel La Mision de Fray Diego ó similar.

Day 11:
Merida - Chichen Itza - Cenote Chukum - Cancun/Riviera Maya
Departure to visit Chichen Itza, probably the most famous Mayan archaeological site, with its famous pyramid of Kukulkan. Refreshing bath in the Chukun Cenote and lunch. Arrival to Cancun or Riviera Maya at sunset and accommodation at your hotel (not included). Enf of the tour
